Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park

The Everglades: a huge nature reserve. In this natural made swamp area, hundreds of fish and bird species have their home. The many different plant species on their own are worth a visit to this beautiful and fascinating nature reserve.

The Everglades National Park was founded in 1947 and declared a natural reserve in the 1950s. American crocodiles, leatherback turtles, Florida panthers and plenty of mosquitos live in this area. With a canoe you can get close to the endangered animal species living in the 40 miles wide wonderland.

The Wilderness way, a 100 mile long marked waterway through streams, rivers and bays winds from the Gulf of Mexico to Flamingo at the Florida Bay. Here you can watch alligators in their natural environment. The swamps reach from Lake Okeechobee to the Southwest of Florida.
